Vztah klasické archeologie a veřejnosti na území České republiky a jeho vývoj
Johana Stejskalová absolvovala obor klasická archeologie v rámci bakalářského studia na FF UK, během kterého strávila také jeden semestr na University of Sheffield v rámci programu Erasmus. Magisterský titul poté získala z oborů archeologie římských provincií a muzeologie na Leiden University. V roce 2018 nastoupila do doktorského studia na Ústavu pro klasickou archeologii na FF UK. Účastnila se archeologických výzkumů na lokalitách v Bulharsku, Itálii, Jordánsku, Uzbekistánu a Izraeli.
Již od počátku studií se věnuje pořádání akcí pro veřejnost, výstav a edukačních programů s archeologickou tématikou a zajímá jí právě vztah veřejnosti a klasické archeologie jako vědy. Proto se na toto téma zaměřuje nejen ve své dizertační práci, ale zabývá se jím také v rámci zaměstnání nejprve v Národním muzeu a nyní i na Ústavu archeologické památkové péče středních Čech.
The Relationship between Classical Archeology and Public in the Czech Republic and its Development
Johana Stejskalová obtained a bachelor’s degree in Classical archaeology at Charles University in Prague. During her bachelor studies she spent one semester at the University of Sheffield as an Erasmus exchange student. Then she decided to continue with her studies at the Faculty of Archaeology at Leiden University where she earned a master’s degree in Archaeology of Roman Provinces and Museum studies. At the moment she is a PhD student at the Institute of Classical Archaeology at Charles University. She participated on archaeological excavations in Bulgaria, Italy, Jordan, Uzbekistan and Israel.
From the very beginning of her studies she has engaged in organising events for public, exhibitions and educational programmes focused on archaeology and has overall been interested in the relationship between public and Classical archaeology as a science. Therefor she chose this field of study as the topic of her dissertation. Moreover she has also pursued this direction in her work life, firstly in the National museum and nowadays at the Institute of Archaeological Heritage of Central Bohemia.
