The Yurta-Stroyno Archaeological Project. Studies on the Roman Rural Settlement in Thrace

A new book was recently realised at the Institute of Classical Archaeology under the Faculty of Arts publishing house! It is a final volume on the Yurta-Stroyno Archaeological Project, excavating a Roman period rural settlement in Bulgaria.

The main objectives of the project were the determination of the habitation dynamics of the settlement, the investigation of its architectural appearance and general function, as well as its possible relation to the Roman military camp in Kabyle. This volume brings together studies on the settlement’s investigation, including the excavation and surface survey, as well as individual articles dealing with different aspects of the settlement existence and material culture.

Congratulations to all authors, namely: Stefan Bakardzhiev, Viktoria Čisťakova, Věra Doležálková, Robert Frecer, Clarissa Haubenthal, Petra Heřmánková, Jiří Kmošek, Adéla Minaříková, Miriam Nývltová Fišáková, Petra Tušlová, Zuzana Zlámalová Cílová and Barbora Weissová.

The book will be fully available online, coming soon…
